There are several tools you need to run a successful Neways business - and if you are online (which you obviously are!), some important programs and utilities to fully take advantage of the available online training and support.
  
    Here are some recommendations:

A separate line dedicated to your business, if possible.  I always answer my business line with a friendly, "This is Signe."  Choose something that works for you.  If this is not feasible for you right now, please make sure members of the household answer the phone in a business-friendly manner, such as...  "Smith Residence" - or "Good evening, Smith Residence."
 
Another option you may have in your area is "distinctive ringing" - it's a separate phone number which rings to your home line (you don't have two different phone lines) - but has a different ring than your home number.  Give the "distinctive ring" number out for your business.  When it rings, you know immediately that it is a business call, and can answer it accordingly.  You may want to instruct children NOT to answer your distinctive ring or business line.  Check with your local phone company.
  
Voice Mail or an answering machine to capture calls when you are not home.  Again, be sure the message is reflects the professionalism of your business, even if it is a family line.  Something like:

"Hi, you've reached the Smith residence and home office line.  Please leave a message and your call will be returned promptly."
